A critical aspect of being a sports agent is staying current with everything that’s going on in sports. But, it can be tough, especially when you’re trying to manage your players at the same time. Blogs can be a great way to help you stay up to date on what’s going on in sports. You can read blogs while you move for a flight, in your hotel room or at home while you have your morning cup of joe. Here are seven blogs you might want to bookmark to help you stay current in sports.

1. Sports Agent Blog – This blog is designed for those who want to be sports agents, and offers a wealth of information about sports management colleges and getting a sports management degree as well as about job opportunities and tricks of the trade.
2. Juiced Sports –This is a well written and up to date blog about everything going on in the sports world. It’s definitely not just for agents and managers, sports fans love it too.
3. Yard Barker – This blog is designed for sports agents and it can help you stay up to the minute. However, you can also create your own mini-blog on this site, to post your own views about sports and get your study out there. I like the way this blog is organized. You can swiftly scan by type of sports or you can swiftly read the “morning after” section for the latest sports news.
4. Sports Law Blog – Of course, each sports agent needs a good background in the law. This blog is great for helping you sort through the required legalese in negotiating a contract. It’s been ranked as one of the top 100 law blogs by the American Bar Association Journal.
5. Scout.com – Of course, as a sports agent, scouting is a huge part of your job. This is a great blog to help you see who’s out there, who needs an agent, and who you’d like to represent.
6. beRecruited – Another great blog for finding out about the new guys. There are some very good biographies of up and coming players here. The site is actually designed to connect high school athletes to college coaches, but it’s also a great way for agents to get a leg up on who’ll soon be acquirable for representation.
7. Sports Rumors – Keeping up with the rumors is helpful when you’re a sports agent. This blog has rumors and deals from each major sport crossways the world. It pays to check this blog and other rumor blogs regularly, so that you can maintain an inside track.

Being a sports agent or manager is a busy, runaround kind of job. But, amidst all the hurry and scurry of your job, don’t forget to take a tiny time to read the news about sports and sports management, so that you stay up to date on everything you need to know. And, by the way, most of these blogs are pretty entertaining, too.

Ellen Ward blogs about how to select a sport management degree.
