If you are a cricket fan, or indeed a fan of any other sport, then the “Ten” Sports channel is worth your attention. It streams live games and matches online so that you can see the action as it happens. It’s not just live action either; you can see the top ten bowlers or the top ten strikes. The international cricket tournaments are, of course featured and you can watch the action live online as well as on TV.

The Ten Sports channel is aimed at the populations of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, the West Indies and Sri Lanka. Of course, as it can be found online, anyone can watch it and the saint thing about it (arguably) is that it is free to watch online So if your television picture is not as clear as it might be – watch online and get live action with an astonishing picture which is not blockaded by the vagaries of the telegram bourgeois you pay.

Admittedly, watching cricket on a small personal screen might not be ideal, but with a laptop at least you can watch the match wherever you are with Ten Cricket, streamed directly to your computer.

The one thing I particularly like is the better picture calibre as I have to state that the telegram is not too good in my area. The other bonus about having a laptop for ten Cricket is that a power outage doesn’t mean I can’t watch the cricket match.

You might feel a tiny strange watching cricket on your personal screen at first, but you soon get used to it and Ten Cricket is one of the saint channels as far as I am concerned. One of the next huge highlights on Ten Cricket is the international tournament between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, which, in the part of the world Ten Sports channel targets is one of the major sporting events in the calendar.

Throughout the year Ten Cricket has live matches and items that will interest avid cricket fans and those with just a passing interest in the game. When there is no live cricket the channel is devoted to the game so you can always find interviews and a whole host of cricketing trivia and snippets to entertain you if rain stops play. While you might still watch Ten Cricket and Ten Sports channel on your television screen, you should really try out the experience of watching matches on your personal screen. Why not try it now and see what it’s all about?

Everyone knows that throwing a tantrum after a losing game is bad behavior. People will state that you are a sore loser, ill tempered or more often than not, a bad sport. One should ask, why? Seriously, you just lost a game; if you were a truly good sport, you would have won right?

Yes, of course, it has all been stated and done; “sport instructs discipline” or patience, or perseverance, or acceptance, or self worth, or a hundred dozen other positive virtues. But if that really were true, should not all our athletes be canonized as saints? Does Tiger Woods not know how to swear? Will David Beckham never, ever do wrong? Is Wayne Gretzky beyond bad manners? The point of the matter is, no matter how well you play the game, or how much you have mastered a sport, can one truly ever be, a clean sport?

Evolution

Let us grappling it; the human psyche is designed to reject the feelings of defeat.

We are genetically engineered to want to do better. Losing triggers negative reactions from our mind, teaching us, training us, evolving us to dislike losing. In fact, this factor, combined with our natural level of self worth, or pride as others might place it, creates intolerance to losing. This is how we humans moved from becoming cave dwellers into penthouse suite residents.

Somewhere, thousands of years ago, primeval man decided he was not going to take a beating from some mammoth ever again. Thus was born hunting, and the first sport man partook in was that of survival; or so we assume, provided that there is as of yet, no evidence that a primitive form of Texas Hold ‘em Poker has been found.

Looking back on this, it is not so surprising that we would like to swear our lungs out the next time we land on the water hazard on the eighth hole. It is simply our genes telling us that such poor performance is an objectionable standard. That, and the fact that it truly is frustrating to purchase so many replacement golf balls.

Letting the Steam Out

It is inevitable that when playing competitive sports, someone has got to lose, so why can not we all just be truly clean and let the loser belt his frustrations out? When we win, we get to experience the glory, and the gloating, in all its absolute glory. Who are we then to deprive our opponent the right and opportunity to sulk, complain and make excuses for having lost the game? Do we not all deserve a few moments to lick our wounds? As much as people might state that winning is not everything, it still feels superior to win.

Thus we now come to the conclusion that we live in a world that is intolerant of both losing and feeling sorry for losing. Those who lose are expected to still smile and cheer on the victor. Indeed, by creating the adjudge of “sore loser” we allow no one the right or dignity to express a sense of emotional defeat when experiencing loss.

Calling it Even

Is it really that bad? No, it is not. No amount of embarrassment, shame or incompetence brought about by losing a evenhandedly played game or match would ever come close to the amount of fun and enjoyment we can get from playing itself. Besides, the less time we spend feeling sorry for losing, the faster we can begin playing another round. GP

There are millions of people all over the world that enjoy sports, counting myself in of course. I love watching all kinds of sports, playing some sports and lastly, playing fantasy sports. Whether you love it or not, call it competitive game or just a waste time, you can’t deny that fantasy sports had become one large market and had taken the world by storm. According to a 2008 research survey by Ipsos, there are almost 29.9 million Americans is already hook up on fantasy sports and the total market impact of fantasy sports is just under .5 billion.

I knew about fantasy sports just a few years ago. At first I was just all eyes and cheering for the fantasy team of my friends, but then I was envious and before I knew it, I have my own powerful fantasy team and I had been an avid fan ever since.

Unlike some fantasy sports player, I do not play huge money. I make it sure that the money I will spend here is just a part of my savings or a tiny extra on my money. Of course I win some tiny cash here too from time to time.

If it is not because of Fantasy Sports, I would have given up on sports for a long time now. In some point of my sports life, I was busy at work to play any sports at all, and then I was so sick of all the drama that surrounded professional sports and athletes. Each time I turned the television on I would hear about a player holding out for more money on an already over-inflated million dollar contract or a player with a case of abuse, physical injury or harassment or a player being famous on their love affairs. The love of the game was being overtaken by the love of money and fame, and I was completely getting sick of it.

I have heard similar stories from many of my friends and colleagues as well. It seems that most people are generally in stark opposition to the way in which professional athletes have turned a game into nothing more than a business. I know many people that have stopped watching professional sports altogether because of it.

I know other people who would not have much to do with professional sports if it were not for fantasy sports. I am sure that my experience is not all that unusual either. It seems to me that a fantasy sport has been the greatest thing to happen to professional sports in quite some time. Playing fantasy sports grants a mortal to feel as if they’re actually involved in the dynamics of a game, even if it is only online. It brings out a sense of commitment and a desire to watch sports like nothing else can so that you can research the ideal players for your team.

Fantasy sport has forever changed the future of sports for the better. It has provided an injection of much needed enthusiasm (not to mention money) that was beginning to wane a few years back. It has served to revitalize the sports industry. And if I’m wrong about this, then at least it had revived my passion on sports.
